My big brother saved me…

We have been doing a lot of rearranging lately in our house.  Tara and I got a new bedroom set so our old bedroom furniture went to Sami’s room.  The guest bed that was in there went to the game room for now until we can get rid of it.  To make room for the bed in the game room, I moved the Golden Tee and Pinball machine down a little.  Kids realized they had enough space where they could go behind the games.  I told them not to do that and pushed the games closer to the wall to a point where I didn’t think they would fit.

Guess what, one did.  Tara and I were talking in the kitchen and Josh comes running out and screamed something.  It sounded like he said “Sami stop”, but we thought it was strange for him to say that and then look at us.  He could tell that we didn’t understand him so he started jumping up and down and said “Sami’s stuck!  Sami’s stuck!”.  At that point I knew exactly where she was - stuck behind the Golden Tee machine.  Poor thing couldn’t even turn her head.  We pulled the machine away and pulled her out.  She was pretty scared.  She gave Josh a huge hug to say thank you to him for saving her.

Daddy’s little girl

Sami is starting to give the best hugs!!  She wraps her arms around you and just squeezes as hard as she can.  I love it!!  She is also giving kisses with her mouth closed!  I remember it took Josh a long time to figure that out but Sami picked up on that pretty quickly.  The other night, Sami and I were laying in the bed watching the Suns game (:().  She curled up in my shoulder and fell asleep.  I didn’t want to move.  She has been swimming a couple more times since the last swimming post.  She is still a little timid in the water, which really is a good thing.

Just monkeying around…

Sami has picked up how much we read to Josh and has joined the wanting to be read to club!  We have this one book that she loves when we read it to her.  Tara has been reading it to her quite a bit and has been trying to get her to act out some of the animals in it.  One of the animals is a BIG monkey.  So, Tara has got Sami to pound her chest and scream whenever she sees the picture.  I love it!!  I definitely need to get that recorded to pull out later in life.  :)

We have a swimmer!

I took Josh and Sami swimming the other day.  It was Sami’s first time in the water. She was very timid at first and I really had to ease her into it by having her sit on my lap, then sit next to me with her feet in, splash around with her feet, standing, etc etc etc…  She did good sitting at the edge with her feet in and would stand up on the top step every once in awhile, but she didn’t really care for when I took her in and walked around with her.  Renee took the kids swimming yesterday and said she was jumping in!  Now that the pool is warming up, I suspect we will be spending a lot of time in it.

Super girl

The other night both kids wanted to be super heros.  Josh had put on his Superman cape and Sami didn’t want to be left out.  She went and grabbed the Super J costume that our neighbor made for Josh.  I put it on Sami and she started acting like Super Girl.  She was running around the house, spinning in circles holding the cape out and imitating whatever Josh did.
